Testofen For Men

A proprietary extract of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum), bio-actives called saponins, may hold promise to help men naturally nature of their youth, both sexually and physiologically.

Men taking it can boost their sex drive by at least a quarter, researchers report in the February 10, 2011 issue of Phytotherapy Research. The aim of the clinical study was to evaluate the effect of Testofen on male libido (sexual drive, urge or desire) in a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study. The study recruited 60 healthy males aged between 25 and 52, without erectile dysfunction and they were randomized to an oral dose (two tablets per day) of the active treatment (600 mg Testofen per day), or placebo for six weeks.

“Testofen had an overall positive effect on physiological aspects of libido,” said the study investigators. “In particular, there was a significant increase in the subdomains of sexual arousal and orgasm. Testofen had a positive effect on quality of life in self-reported satisfaction with muscle strength, energy and well-being, but did not have an effect on mood or sleep. Serum prolactin and testosterone levels remained within the reference range. It was concluded that Testofen demonstrated a significant positive effect on physiological aspects of libido and may assist to maintain normal healthy testosterone levels.”

While much more clinical data is essential to scientific proof, additional evidence can be found in a second study in the December 2010 issue of the International Journal of Sport Nutrition, Exercise and Metabolism, which determined the effects of fenugreek seed extract, “an alleged aromatase and 5-α reductase inhibitor,” on strength, body composition and hormonal profiles in resistance-trained men.

Researchers from the Department of Exercise and Sport Science, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Belton, Texas, took 30 resistance-trained men who were randomly assigned in a double-blind manner to ingest 500 mg of either a placebo or the fenugreek herb once per day for eight weeks. Subjects participated in a 4 day per week resistance-training program for eight weeks. At weeks 0, 4 and 8, body composition, 1-repetition-maximum (1RM) bench press and leg press, muscle endurance, anaerobic power, and hormonal profiles were assessed. “Significant main effects in time were noted for bench- and leg-press 1RM, lean body mass, and estradiol.” The authors concluded that 500 mg of daily supplementation significantly affected a certain percent of body fat, total testosterone, and bioavailable testosterone compared with a placebo in a double-blind fashion.

In a study done at the Department of Pharmacology, Poona College of Pharmacy, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Erandwane, India, the researchers noted, “Tri-gonella foenum (TF) has long been used in the traditional Indian systems of medicine for the treatment of various ailments.” In this study, in a biological system, the herb “showed anabolic activity without androgenic activity.”

Updated Perspective (2023–2025)

More recent reviews suggest that fenugreek-based supplements like Testofen may support quality of life measures in men with borderline-low testosterone, particularly in terms of libido, mood stability, and muscle recovery. However, experts still recommend a full hormone panel and physician consultation before relying on any over-the-counter product for testosterone support.

Interestingly, some clinicians are now exploring Testofen as part of a multi-supplement protocol for middle-aged men pairing it with vitamin D, zinc, and resistance training for a more holistic, lifestyle-based testosterone support plan.

Is Testofen Worth Trying?

If you’re looking for a natural way to support sexual wellness, strength, and energy, Testofen could offer real benefits — especially if you’re in your 30s to 50s and noticing early signs of hormonal slowdown. The existing research, while limited, is encouraging, and user experiences tend to reflect improvements in libido, stamina, and confidence.

That said, Testofen is not a magic bullet. It won’t override poor sleep, high stress, or bad diet, and it’s unlikely to fix serious hormonal imbalances. Think of it as a gentle nudge, not a hormone replacement therapy.

For best results, use Testofen as part of a broader lifestyle upgrade that includes:

Strength training

Prioritizing sleep

Managing stress

Whole-food nutrition

Regular check-ins with your doctor

When paired with intentional effort, Testofen could be the extra 10% that helps you feel more like yourself again.
