Skin damaged by aging, stress and dryness craves these 9 nourishing oils with powerful antioxidants, essential fatty acids, minerals plus organic full spectrum hemp extract, an anti-inflammatory super star.

I’ve blended my favorite oils such as pumpkin, cranberry and pomegranate with hemp for the ultimate repair serum. I added essential oils such as rose, neroli, geranium and elemi for their terpene content and floral notes. I call this nutrient-dense, repair powerhouse Divine Beauty Oil, as it brings wonders to your complexion, naturally withering and weathering as the years run by, feeding dry, stressed skin, and restoring its protective barrier.

Here are the nine skin super stars:

• Cranberry seed oil (Vaccinium macrocarpon) is one of the most effective skin repair agents. The “curative properties of the oils of … V. macrocarpon revealed a significant result, which suggests [its] wound-healing potential,” write scientists in Phytotherapy Research.

• Pomegranate seed oil (Punica granatum) is known for its high concentration of polyphenolic compounds and antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Nanoemulsions of pomegranate seed oil “were able to protect the cells’ DNA against UVB-induced damage in a concentration dependent manner.”

• Pumpkin seed oil (Cucurbita pepo) contains vitamins A, B, C, E and K and minerals such as magnesium, calcium, copper, potassium, selenium, iron, phosphorous and zinc. Studies show it is a wound healer.

• Sunflower seed oil (Helianthus annuus) is high in vitamin E and moisturizes. It protects from ultraviolet light and helps prevent premature aging of the skin by protecting collagen and elastin production. Its linoleic and oleic acids calm irritated skin.

• Rosehip seed oil (Rosa canina) is pressed from the seeds of rose bushes harvested in Chile and Argentina to yield vitamins A, C and E plus beta carotene, lycopene and omega fatty acids (3, 6 and 9). It reduces fine lines and inflammation due to its rich fatty acid and antioxidant content.

• Neroli essential oil (Citrus aurantium amara) is extracted from the fragrant blossoms of the bitter orange tree. It conveys a brightening, toning and tightening effect to the skin while imparting an enchanting scent on the olfactory senses.

• Elemi essential oil (Canarium luzonicum) is obtained from the resin of the pili tree, which grows in the Philippines. Elemi dates to the Egyptians who used it in their skin care regimens, as incense and to embalm mummies. From the same family of trees that we get frankincense and myrrh, elemi is used to tonify, clarify and impart a fresh, healthy glow to the skin.

• Geranium essential oil (Pelargonium graveolens) tightens skin, fades wrinkles and gives a radiant complexion. It balances hormones and is used for acne due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

• Full spectrum hemp (Cannabis sativa) extract contains the non-psychoactive, antioxidant-rich cannabinoids that nourish and moisturize the skin. To date, we know there are over 100 of cannabinoids. CBD is just one of them. Topically applied full spectrum hemp has been shown in studies to provide anti-inflammatory action, wound regeneration and supports synthesis and protection of collagen; conditions it addresses: acne, eczema, psoriasis and skin cancers. The constituents of hemp oil are also anti-bacterial, balancing and calming. These same constituents have been shown to be stronger in antioxidant activity than vitamins C and E and protect the skin from harmful toxins leading to collagen loss. High in fatty acids, hemp extract can also improve skin’s elasticity and aid in wrinkle reduction.
